Yegal Shamash

Yegal Shamash, Professional Engineer, serves as Deputy Commissioner of Enforcement at the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) where he oversees construction safety, construction complaints, accident response and investigation, continuity of operations, major disaster assessment, and day-to-day enforcement operations. Yegal’s career spans nearly three decades and his expertise has contributed to some of the most complex and defining projects in New York City. He holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Columbia University and has numerous professional affiliations, including the Structural Engineers Association of New York, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Concrete Institute, and the American Institute of Steel Construction.
