Sara Bayer

Sara A. Bayer is an Associate Principal and Director of Sustainability at Magnusson Architecture and Planning (MAP), leading the company's efforts to research and incorporate sustainable strategies, passive house design, decarbonization, and regenerative methods across their portfolio. She also manages energy-efficient multifamily housing projects including two of the firm’s 10 NYSERDA Buildings of Excellence Award winners. She is currently conducting multiple NYSERDA Buildings of Excellence Early Design Support studies focused on regenerative design topics such as “zero carbon” building. Sara was certified CPHC in 2016 and serves on the board of New York Passive House as Chair of Membership Engagement where she leads the annual "Regenerative Metropolis" Symposium. Sara is a frequent speaker in forums focused on efficient and healthy technologies, including those at AIANY, NESEA, BEEX, Urban Green, and Passive House Accelerator, striving to make sustainable, healthy, and uplifting design achievable for all.
